VERY fast shipment, even for “PRIME”! Items were exactly as described, arrived in perfect condition, and are now all filled with growing seeds! I used a sheet of tin foil under each one, drew the sides up level with the height of the pots all around, and made a loose “boat” around each set of 10 seedling pots – keeps the moisture from leaking onto surfaces without the need for trays underneath. This way I can reposition each set without needing to rearrange much larger and bulkier trays, I can regulate the amount of moisture retention by how tightly or loosely I snug the foil around the pots to control the air flow and drainage if necessary, and I can water from the bottom since these pots are self-wicking, thus eliminating the “seed flooding” that can occur by pouring water on top of wee seedlings. VERY happy with these pots, my seedlings are doing WONDERFUL in them, and am back to buy more to have saved and ready for next spring!!

Best price around on Amazon plus they aren’t going to be messy when I can transplant them directly into the soil instead of messing around with flimsy plastic. My seedlings took off flight in these along with peat pellets. They will break apart a bit due to their biodegradable nature if you water enough, but this is no concern to me because the pots themselves will not break, just the edges. I had to soak the peak pellets and it was my fault I didn’t do this outside of the pots. I feel good about them because they were cheaper than the plastic, they are far more efficient, you can buy aluminum trays to put them in and recycle those afterward for almost nothing (buy aluminum cooking trays either here on amazon for almost nothing or your local dollar tee. we found some in a jiffy 2 to a pack to suit our needs for trays. you will need trays). Plastic seedling kits are flimsy, they are messy, they do not help in preserving the earth unless you can recycle them. These were cheaper than the plastic. You get 50 pots per kit. We bought 4 along with 200 peat pellets and our seedlings just sprung to life! We will be buying these again very shortly!

I’ll Avoid These In The Future, March 16, 2015

These pots tended to deteriorate faster than the seeds would sprout. When they did not almost immediately deteriorate, mold
rampaged across the surfaces. The seeds that did sprout seemed to ignore the mold but what a mess. There was little more
than putty left when and if these made into the garden.

Update: Mid-March, I tried starting carrots, beets, and onions in what I had left of these. Two weeks later, I started similar
plants in recycled seed trays from purchased flowers. Under identical conditions, indoors, under grow lamps, the seeds planted in
these pots are still feeble while those in the recycled plastic pots are robust, nearly ever seed sprouted, and are nearly twice
the size. The sprouts in the Plantation Seed Starter pots are so pathetic that I’ll probably just discard the sprouts with the pots.
